If you’re feeling a little stuck or the weather has you uninspired, good news! I’m sharing three fab options where you can show the person you love just how much you love them with plenty of sweet treats, wine and good food…of course!

I’m the kind of person who doesn’t need to wait for a holiday to go celebrate, all that being said – Valentine’s Day is big holiday in Ohio and I’m never one to say no to a good time. So, it’s always a good time to start planning your date night for this national holiday!

If you’re feeling a little stuck or the weather has you uninspired, good news! I’m sharing three fab options where you can show the person you love just how much you love them with plenty of sweet treats, wine and good food…of course!

While all three options below are just wonderful, they all offer something a little different – so no matter your budget or the type of evening you’re looking to have, one of these should suite you just fine.

Toast Wine Bar

Toast opened nearly two years ago in my neighborhood, The Gordon Square Arts District, after plenty of buzz. We were all waiting and waiting and waiting, don’t worry, the wait was worth it! A converted century home, Toast is just oh-so-cozy. The staff is phenomenal – they’re friendly and laid back but so freaking knowledgeable on wine and food – it’s the best of both worlds. Pop in for a glass or two of vino prior to walking across the street to catch a flick at the Capitol Theatre or make reservations and stay for dinner. Their food is perfect for a cold winter’s night. Sweet Moses

Maybe you just started dating or maybe you’re just looking for something nostalgic and low-key for the evening. Heck, maybe you’re single and you’re looking to get crazy with a 10-scoop ice cream pile on. Sweet Moses has it all. This adorable old-time soda shop is another neighborhood favorite of my mine. Stop in for a sundae, a piece of pie, hot chocolate or grab something from the confections display. You won’t regret it for a moment. Find more info about them here.

Trentina

I’ve saved the most decadent, balls to the wall lovers’ night out option for last. This is where you’ll find my boyfriend and I on St. Valentine’s Day.  We’re huge fans of Chef Sawyer – like creepy in love would do anything for some of the food at Greenhouse Tavern and we’re ready to get all fancy and indulge in a 12 course tasting of Northern Italian cuisine.  Artistically prepared divine tastings over the course of 2 ½ hours? Sign us up, we live for this stuff – it’s pretty much what our entire relationship is based off of. We’ll also have wine, lots and lots of wine, which is always a plus. This beautifully styled restaurant sits in University Circle just next to The Glidden House. Reservations are required with encouragement to dress to impress, so jump on it now if you haven’t already.  Better news – if you’re looking for celebratory bragging rights, this place was a runner up in Esquire’s Annual Best New Restaurants feature in 2014. Find more info about them here.
