Baby, it’s cold outside! Winter has hit Northeast Ohio in full force, which means it’s the perfect time to enjoy some of the many cold-weather activities that the region has to offer.
Northeast Ohio can be ski country too! Boston Mills/Brandywine offers skiing, snowboarding, and Polar Blast snow tubing for all ages and experience levels. There is dining and drinks available at the Lodges at both Boston Mills and Brandywine, as well as rental and retail shops to get you fully outfitted for a winter adventure.
Cleveland Metroparks Strongsville Toboggan Chutes and Chalet offers the tallest, fastest toboggan chutes in Ohio! The area boasts two 700-foot refrigerated chutes that are open through March, with or without snow. Adults are $12 for an all-day ticket, children 11 and younger are $10, or you can buy a single-ride ticket for $6.
Lock 3 Akron Winterfest offers ice skating in the heart of Akron through February 19. Skating is $4 with skate rental or $2 if you bring your own skates.
For a more mellow winter experience, check out Lake Metroparks Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing, available in both the Chapin Forest Reservation and Girdled Road Reservation. Snowshoe rental is available and you can take in the scenic beauty of the parks, while getting some exercise too!
Of course, whatever winter activity you choose, be safe, bundle up, and grab a cup or two of hot cocoa to keep warm!
